Here's How You Can Be More Confident

Confidence — it's something we all need, and there’s never enough of it.

Being confident really just means living your life at 100%.

Think about it: how many times did we miss out on something, just because we lacked some confidence? The conversations we missed, the experiences that we never got to feel, the life that we could've lived. Our lack of confidence is often really minor, but it can have enormous effects over the course of our lives. Uhh... let's slow down, we don't want you to experience an existential crisis here, hah. But really, we can all agree that our life would be much more fulfilling if we were fully confident at all times.

Having confidence would result in living a richer life, and we would be a lot happier overall.

There's a bunch of reasons why we lack confidence, whether because of our fears, insecurities, traumas, or just a simple lack of experience. The good news is that we can totally build our confidence from scratch, and there are a lot of psychological studies that prove this.

Building confidence can completely transform our lives in a positive way, and we're here to help you achieve that.

How Confidence Changes Your Life

Ask anyone who's been there before, and they will tell you how much their lives changed after building confidence.

When you're living a life filled with confidence, everything gets better. Your social life improves, people respect you way more, you experience things you would never even dream of, and you feel happy & motivated all the time. It is truly a night and day difference, and you will see why.

Confidence allows you to be your real self, and you will be living life at full capacity.

Also, building confidence has a "snowball effect", meaning that it starts slowly, but when it really picks up you have an avalanche at your hands. It's a wonderful thing to have (don't think it's just you, we ALL struggle with it), but we have to start somewhere.

We'll give you some practical advice that you can take to be more confident, and it's really simple.

Here are 4 tips you can use to build confidence in yourself:

  1. Let Go

Whatever it is that's holding you back, just let it go.

All of us are burdened by our past experiences, fears, anxieties, and our false expectations to be perfect. It's important to realize that none of us is perfect, and none of us will ever be perfect. We all have something that holds us back, but that's a lame excuse not to be confident.

To truly build confidence, we need to let go of all expectations. In the end, it really does not matter what your peers, parents or society think. Yes, we should consider everyone's opinion, but the problem is in the fact that we're trying to please everyone else but ourselves. These expectations are often small, but they have a huge impact on our confidence, and we can never truly be ourselves until we let go.

Letting go is good, healthy and it feels liberating. The worst thing that can happen when we let go is that we might have a few unpleasant experiences, which will still serve as a good lesson moving forward, and better yet — it will actually feel good when it's over.

So let go of all fears, and express the real you.

  1. Express the Real You

It's paradoxical — expressing the real you gives you confidence, and confidence allows you to express the real you.

The way to solve this equation is to do the former. Start expressing yourself, say what you want, do what you want, and be what you want. It feels liberating, and it will have a tremendous effect on your confidence. Appearance is one of the best ways to do this and a simple way to start is to start wearing clothes that inspire you. Find a style that suits you, wear it with pride, and you will be far more confident and happy with yourself.

Here's a story we can all relate to:

Mary gets a new pair of shoes for her birthday, and she totally falls in love with them. However, there's a twist — the shoes are quite different and unusual, they're unlike anything she wore before. Even though she likes them, she still feels anxious about wearing them, and she doesn't want to embarrass herself with her new style.

We've all been in this situation, and the solution is always the same — just do it (totally not a shoutout). As soon as put the shoes on and break out of your comfort zone, you realize that there was nothing to be afraid of. You're rocking a new style and you totally dig it, you radiate with good vibrations and your friends will happy to be around because of that.

We can never go wrong expressing ourselves, and that's a powerful way to build confidence in yourself.

  1. Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

Look, we all have our comfort zone, and we're anxious to step out of it.

It's always a hard thing to do, but in the end, we feel good when we do it. We should all strive to do new things, and even if it ends up bad, we should still welcome the experience and learn from it. Nothing terribly bad ever happened from stepping out of our comfort zone.

There's a lot of ways to step out of your zone of comfort zone — maybe you pick up a new hobby, rock a new fresh clothing style, meet new people, see new places, but whatever it is, it's going to help you build confidence and love yourself even more. Wait no longer, go out there and experience the world.

  1. Reflect

As you begin working on your confidence, time will slowly but surely pass.

One day you're going to look back and see just how far you've come. This is a good time to look back and reflect on how much you changed for the better. You will feel happy with the results, and it will motivate you to work even harder. When you commit yourself to change, good things will always happen. Once you arrive at your destination, we hope that you will remember this article as something that got the snowball going... and please let us know about it!

Confidence is life's ultimate gift, wear it proudly with you.
